My night

Ooookay.  So my friend Al got in contact with me today.  I haven’t seen him in awhile but apparently our friends Lee and Nathan, and a girl who I believe is Nathan’s girlfriend, were going to meet up at his house so I was also invited.  I don’t hang out with them a lot.  They are good people.  Each of us are rather different than one another but that is what makes it a good friendship, we accept each others differences.  Normally when invited over I decline, most of the time it is for some party, but this time I felt obligated to come.  I do consider them my friends, but I am still socially retarded.  I’m not up on pop culture at all so they will talk about movies and I have no idea what is going on so most of the night I just sat there and kept quiet.  Al’s dad is very nice, but is also a talker.  They are from Syria and his dad’s accent is hard to understand at times.  Well, I can understand him fine but I need to be able to pay attention to really hear it since my mind can’t fill in blanks as easily, so when other people are talking around me it is hard to focus.  He gave me some moonshine, which Al poured and gave me half a glass(tumbler) of.  It was good stuff.  Not as strong as you’d think, but smooth and to me sweet.  If you are like me and think sake is sweet then you’ll know what I mean, because it is sweet in that kind of way.  It was enough to give me a buzz though, and after that while we were sitting around the table I was able to let loose a bit.  I do wish I didn’t need alcohol to do so…but all in all I guess I’d have to say it was a good night.

Fitness progress

Okay, I haven’t taken any updated progress pics in a while so here it goes. Sadly since I dont’ put weight on easily there isn’t as much of a change as I would of liked, that and my exercising has been a bit sporadic. My routine has been more consistent lately though, so hopefully my next progress photos will actually show a larger change. Twice a day, sometimes three, I do a squat challenge. It kills my quads and only a few times have I made it through without them starting to cramp up. heh. I’m sure it will get easier, and my goal is to be doing the challenge with weights. I’ve also been doing more wide stance pushups, trying to focus more on my chest. Pullups I’ve been slacking on a bit, but I did them today and I plan to keep it up. Tomorrow’s exercise might be taken up by mostly bike riding though.

Yeah!

I have just received in the mail a certificate awarded to me for making the President’s List for achieving a 4.0 gpa this semester!  First time evah!

I have to say out of all the colleges (3 so far) that I’ve been to, the local community college is the best.  Sure, every school has had bad teachers, but here they truly seem to want to help you. 

When I got my grades this semester I received 3 A’s and 1 B.  Good, but that B should have been an A.  It was in my portfolio 2 class, the class that was basically my gallery show, and I had a very good show I have to say.  I admit I am an emotional person and had issues with this.  My teacher and I never always saw eye to eye and seemed to have had some miss communication, a problem on both ends.

But after stating my case and proving a few things I should be getting straight A’s this semester.  That is good.  I’m also getting a lot of help with my application to OCAC and figuring out how I can put together a college visit, since it is quite literally across the country.
